Most routine biochemistry and haematology panels are reported within 24 to 48 hours of the sample arriving at the laboratory, including GMC-registered doctor review. Specialist assays, such as genetics, cytology and microbiology, take longer and vary with sample type and method. These are typical times, not guarantees.
